FINA 450 (Finance)
Real Estate Investment and Finance

Prerequisite: FINA 380 or 385; FINA 390 or 395.
This course deals with the central issues in real estate finance and investment, and with recent advances in the field. Students will be introduced to basic topics such as the organization of real estate markets, pricing, inflation, taxation, valuation methods, brokerage, ownership forms, and real estate law. In addition, they will study recent advances in finance as they apply to the concept of real estate valuation. Principles learned in FINA 385 and 395, and in academic journals will serve as the basis for this aspect of the course.
NOTE: This course is offered for Finance Majors and Minors only. Non-Finance Majors and Minors must register for FINA 210.
